Today marks the 66% completion point.  Eight months down, four to go.

Enough talk, lets go to Venice!

b5IMG_7421

Sam could not resist licorice.  I am surprised he gave me a taste.

We had an adventure asking locals for a non-touristic restaurant to eat.
We could not follow directions of the gentleman who ran the wine shop.
I think he was drinking profits.  However a local undertaker steered us to an amazing
family run place.  Pasta putenesca, bacaloa, and sardines with polenta… not to mention
wonderful conversation!

Maria turned 11.  She made the tiramisu herself.  Now I know
why the Riggio’s are such incredible cooks!

I now realize that my lack of sleep is not caused by jet lag but by the super-caffeinated Italian expresso.

b5IMG_7341

On our way up to the Alps we stopped for lunch in Trento.  There is a
heavy Austrian influence in the city and I am the beneficiary by way of pig, wheat beer,
and cooler temperatures.  Still, that is polenta on top of the sauerkraut.

b5IMG_7346

More caffeine.

b5IMG_7349

A large family dinner at the house in Vigo di Fassa.  Beautiful people in a beautiful setting.

b5IMG_7387

Prosecco

b5IMG_7389

Nonna’s Beef goulash and polenta… you have no idea how good this is.

b5IMG_7395

I will never eat Boar’s Head Genoa salami again.

b5IMG_7396

What is a meal without the chick pea course?

b5IMG_7399

Cake, Papoo’s homemade grappa, and the limited production dessert wine that makes you cry.

b5IMG_7400

More caffeinne
