That pink stuff is gefilte fish? It looks nothing like I’d imagined.

Sort of like chicken… if chicken was a variety of fish chopped up and poached and served with a jellied broth. Best to accompany with copious amounts of horseradish to clear your sinuses.
I recommend buying a jar and tasting it (don’t forget the horseradish). Homemade is much better but I find the majority of Jewish grandmothers don’t have the time.

Sadly, I do not have the robust constitution befitting a gourmand. I’m a bit finicky about the jellied meat and would never venture my Polish baba’s headcheese, despite her pleas and admonitions.
